€150 fine for not having insurance

Four months were allowed for payment of a €150 fine as fruit farmer Ilian Hristov (46) of 14 The Willows, Wellingtonbridge was handed a motor insurance conviction.

The Bulgarian accused came to the attention of gardaí at Ballyowen in Wellingtonbridge on March 29 last year. The District Court was told that Hristov had been six years in Ireland and five years working for the same company.

On the day in question he had no lift to work and took an old vehicle out on to the road.
