Family woman Molly loved knitting and listening to music

-

MARY (Molly) Crosbie passed away at the age of 78 on February 27 in Castle-gardens Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on August 1, 1939, to parents Thomas and Catherine Doyle, she spent her life living at Saltee Avenue, Maudlintown.

When she got married to her husband George in July, 1961, she moved two doors away from her parents. The couple went on to have four children.

George passed away in November, 1990, his passing a great loss to all the family.

Educated at the St John of Gods, in the Faythe, Molly loved knitting, and listening to music.

For years she enjoyed going out with her daughter Kathleen, sister Sheila and nieces Catherine and Tricia to Jim McGees pub on Thursday nights where she sometimes gave a bar of her favourite song ‘The Old Refrain’.

Her other interest was in her little westie called Snowy which she loved to bring for walks.

Molly was diagnosed with Alzheimers about 10 years ago and spent the last five years at Castle-gardens.

Her son Martin took on the care of Snowy and she sadly passed away last year.

Molly was predeceased by her sister Frances in 2012.

Her Reqiuem Mass took place at the Church of the Assumption, Bride Street, followed by burial in St Ibar’s Cemetery, Crosstown.

She is sadly missed by her children, Kathleen, Mary, Michael and Martin, son in law John, daughters-in-law Lorraine and Margaret, grandchildren Heather, Ingrid, Bronwyn, Lee, Shannon, David and Maria, her sister Sheila, brothers Jimmy and Freddie, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
