1 ANNIE THE MUSICAL: ‘The sun will come out tomorrow’ at Oylegate Community Centre as the first of four nights with everybody’s favourite orphan ‘Annie’ takes to the stage. A truly classic musical, the tale has captured the hearts of the public all over the globe and now it’s being brought to life in Oylegate. Featuring a stellar local cast, a lot of hard work and preparatio­n has gone into the production in recent weeks and organisers are hoping for some great local support. Featuring a series of iconic musical numbers such as ‘Tomorrow’, ‘It’s A Hard Knock Life’ and ‘Maybe’ you’ll be transporte­d into Annie’s world as she searches for her parents. The play runs for four nights, from Wednesday to Saturday, and tickets are priced at €12 for adults and €5 for primary school children. 2 MIKE DENVER: One of Ireland’s best loved country acts will make his way to Enniscorth­y on March 22 for a special show at The Riverside Park Hotel. Mike Denver is a man who needs little introducti­on and has built up a huge following on the Irish circuit with 14 hit albums. Along with his band of fantastic musicians, Mike is promising a great selection of his hits, a mix of country classics and a selection of some middle of the road hits for good measure. Support act on the night is the Queen of Country herself, Ms Philomena Begley, along with Ray Lynham, completing a fantastic evening of country music! 3 A ‘Forget Me Not’ concert, organised by the Carty family promises an evening of top class entertainm­ent at the National Opera House at 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 25. The talented Carty family are presenting the concert in aid of three organisati­ons, Wexford Branch of Alzheimers Society, St Brigid’s Day Care Centre and Abbeygale House, as a thank you ‘for the wonderful care that was given to their mother, Maureen, after she was diagnosed with Alzheimers in 2011 and was cared for by these wonderful local institutio­ns up until her sad passing recently’. 4 NEW ROSS DRAMA FESTIVAL: Excellent drama continues in St Michael’s Theatre, New Ross, for the remaining four nights of New Ross Drama Festival. The box office is open in St Michael’s Theatre for patrons to book their seat for the festival costing €10 nightly. (Students pay half price). Rumours by Neil Simon is performed tonight (Tuesday), Albertine in Five Times by Michael Tremblay, is showing on Wednesday night, Bridge Drama’s Cash on Delivery is being performed on Thursday night and Thurles Drama Group’s Blithe Spirit by Noel Coward is closing the festival on Friday night.

5 FOCUS IRELAND BIG GOREY SLEEP OUT: The people of Wexford are being asked to ‘sleep out’ and support children who are experienci­ng homelessne­ss. Focus Ireland will host its very first ‘Big Gorey Sleep Out’ and is calling on everyone to sleep outside for one night in the car park of the Methodist Church in Gorey to help change a life and raise vital funds for homelessne­ss. The Sleep Out will take place on Friday, March 23, at 9 p.m. More than 3000 children will be homeless this Easter. For more informatio­n or to get a sponsorshi­p card, contact Cathryn O’Leary, the South East Regional Fundraiser, on 086 6042854. Bring along a sleeping bag, duvet, pillows and wear very warm clothes. The sleep out will finish at 6 a.m., and refreshmen­ts will be served throughout the night.

6 Jimmy Carr will be bringing his mammoth Irish Tour, ‘The Best Of, Ultimate, Gold, Greatest Hits Tour’, to the National Opera House at 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 24. 7 STRICTLY CLUB DANCING FINAL: The Strictly Club Dancing final between Tara Rocks GAA club and Kilanerin GAA club will take place on Saturday, March 24, at 8 p.m., in Kilanerin Community Hall. Seven couples from each club will perform one dance each on the night. There are a limited amount of tickets left for the final and are available from Noel Murphy’s Gala store in Kilanerin or call Ciara Fortune on 087 4605153. Tickets are €10. The standard is very high this year, so the judges will have the difficult task of picking an overall winner. The proceeds raised from the Strictly Club Final will be split between the two, and they will put the money towards the running of the GAA clubs.
