ALL IRELAND WINNERS

Well done to St Ibars girls Nicole Harding Kenny, Andrea Fielding, Hannah Hearne, Catriona Kinsella, Grace Harding Kenny, Ailis Neville & Lily Stoutt, who formed part of the Presentati­on school Wexford team who won the O`Neills All-Ireland Post-Primary Schools Junior B title after defeating Castlecome­r Community School by 2-10 to 1-11 after extra-time last Thursday in a replay at WIT arena in Carriganor­e. The girls end the season as Leinster and All-Ireland champions.

A reminder about training times which are as follows, U6/ U8s train on Monday at 5.30 p.m; U10s train on Monday at 6.30 p.m; and U12s on Wednesday from 7-8 p.m.

6K WALK AND RUN

Well done to all from St. Ibars who took part in last weeks Fun Run/Walk. Both young and old greatly enjoyed the fine weather while completing the course with refreshmen­ts served upstairs afterwards. The winners in the men`s section were John Gordon (1st) Seamie Harding (2nd) and John Dunne (3rd). In the women’s section the winners were Sheila Roche (1st) Annmarie Whelan (2nd) and Wendy Canning in 3rd place. The children’s winners were Sean O’Leary (1st) J. P. Fielding (2nd) and Jack Canning in 3rd place.

CLUB AND COUNTY DRAW

Over the coming weeks The Shelmalier­s will be calling to give you a chance to buy a ticket in the 2018 Club & County draw. First prize each month for three months is a car, and as well as that there are dozens of other great prizes. Most of the money stays in the Shelmalier club so they would appreciate your support.

CURRACLOE SCHOOL NEWS

Curracloe national school are holding a Fashion Show to-morrow night, Wednesday, March 21st at 7.30 p.m. in Hotel Curracloe to raise much needed funds for the school. Tickets are €10 and are available from the school, or at the door on the night. Your support would be appreciate­d. Congratula­tions to last week’s winner of the Split the Pot draw, Jack Harding who won €94.50c. The school is now taking enrolments for September 2018. DRAMA SUCCESSES

Bridge Drama Group finished a very successful run at the National Opera House of their production of the hilarious farce “Cash on Delivery” at the end of February, and then hit the road to compete in the various festivals here in Wexford and around the country.

To date they have been very successful and have taken first place at Wexford Drama Festival and also won at the South Leinster festival in Gorey. Acting Awards were also won by Ken Murphy at Wexford, Brian Sheridan and Jacqui Whelan at Gorey, Best Producer award for Trish Doyle at Gorey and Best Play at both Wexford and Gorey. The group continue their travels and last weekend were competing at Portadown and Glenamaddy. We hope to have some more good news to report in next week`s issue.

DEVELOPMEN­T LOTTO

Results of the Curracloe United Lotto draw for Sunday, March 11th were as follows. The numbers drawn were 9, 14, 15 and 24. There was no jackpot winner and 3 match 3 winners who each received €50, Marie & Joe, Glenbough, Screen; Liz Curran, Ballyvaloo and Aidan McGuire, Ballina, Curracloe. The weekly draw takes place every Sunday night at 9 p.m and tickets are available from committee members.

TRACTOR RUN

Wexford Vintage Clubs are converging to host a Tractor Run to raise funds for the much needed MRI Scanner for Wexford General Hospital. The date for the Run has been set for Sunday, April 8th, and the venue is Enniscorth­y Mart on the Old Dublin road. Meeting time is 11 a.m, with departure time at 12 p.m sharp. DEATH

The death occurred on Saturday. March 10 of Patrick (Pat) Roche, Oldtown, Castlebrid­ge. Pre-deceased by his wife Meg and sister Nuala, he is survived by his sons David, Andrew, and Rob and daughter Eleanor, his sister Eithne, grandchild­ren, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, relatives and friends, to whom we offer our deepest sympathy, His remains reposed at his residence on the Sunday with removal to Castlebrid­ge church on Monday, March 11 for Requiem Mass and burial afterwards to Castlebrid­ge cemetery. R.I.P.
