UNDERAGE FOOTBALL

Forth and Bargy a combination of St Fintan’s, Our Lady’s Island and St Mary’s (Rosslare) took sometime to gel when they took on Dunbrody Gales in its first div.2 A under-20 football championship game. A trip to Tagoat to take on Munna-Abhain a combination of Taghmon/Adamstown proved to be so different. The Munna-Abhain side had already scored a well deserved victory over Moguegeen gaels but the forth and bargy men never let them into this contest and ran out comfortable winners on a scoreline of 5-12 to 1-12. David Pettit was the scorer in chief scoring 3-01, with two of his goals coming in the first half to set up a 2-10 to 0-06 halftime scoreline. Munna-Abhain fought back in the second half but when Pettit scored his third major the game was all but over.
