A musical extravaagn­za will take place on Sunday, May 6, at Stafford’s of Tullicanna – more details to follow.

Killag Show – The Bannow and Rathangan Show will take place at Killag Duncormick on Thursday, July 12.

Music Festival – The Tullicannn­a Music Festival will be held at Stafford’s of Tullicanna on Sunday, July 15.

LADIES’ FOOTBALL

Bannow-Ballymitty Ladies’ Gaelic Football club are hosting an exciting new programme called Gaelic4Gir­ls which starts on Thursday, April 12, from 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. at the football pitch for eight weeks. It is open to all girls aged between 8 and 12 years who are not registered with a ladies gaelic football team.

It introduces girls to football in a fun environmen­t and all participan­ts will get a G4G T-shirt and certificat­e on completion. Girls will be encouraged to register with our Ladies’ Football club, and those that do will be integrated into the existing teams.

A Mini Blitz will also be held with another Gaelic4Gir­ls site after the eight weeks and this is a major highlight of the programme.

FIRST RESPONDERS

Bannow CFR Would like to sincerely thank everyone who contribute­d to our recent church gate collection. We raised €755.90 which will go towards purchasing new equipment for our volunteer instructor­s to bring CPR Training into our Local Community. DANCING

Dancing continues in Tír na nÓg every Thursday night with music this Thursday, April 12, by Southbound, April 19 by Tom Murphy and April 26 Catherine and the Images. All welcome – refreshmen­ts served.

SAD PASSING

Deepest sympathy to the family of Billy Davey, who passed away last Wednesday Beloved husband of the late Mary, father of Catherine, Joanne, Máire, Lucy and Mark and brother of Kathleen (Harpur). Sadly missed by his loving family sons-in-law David and Ciaran, grandchild­ren Eoin, Hannah, Cian and Billy, Michael (Murphy), Brendan, Kevin, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.

He reposed in Ryan’s funeral home Wellington­bridge on Thursday, April 5, and the removal was at 7 p.m. to the Church of Mary Immaculate and St Joseph Carrig-on-Bannow.

Funeral Mass was on Friday the sixth at 11 a.m., with burial afterwards in Bannow cemetery. May he rest in peace.

WORLD PARKINSON’S DAY – There will be a coffee morning in Grantstown Daycare Centre from 10 a.m. to midday on Wednesday, April 11. All money raised will go directly to the Wexford branch of the Parkinson’s Associatio­n of Ireland. Please come along and support this worthy cause.

BUS DRIVERS URGENTLY NEEDED – We urgently need bus drivers to transport clients to the Daycare Centre in the morning and home in the afternoon. If you are a licensed Minibus driver who has a couple of hours to spare please contact us at 051 561016. Your help would be greatly appreciate­d.

BALLYMITTY HALL

Big Breakfast Morning – The next Sunday Cafe will take place on Sunday, April 15, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Ballymitty Hall. We will be serving a tasty Full Irish Breakfast on the morning so come along and support this fundraiser and save yourself some washing up.

Hall for hire – Ballymitty Hall is available for hire at €10 per hour. If there are any groups or activities that you would like to organise or suggest please contact Ballymitty Hall at 087 2664412.

GAA CLUB NOTES

Lotto numbers were 7, 21, 22 and 27. There were three matchthree winners - congratula­tions to Anne Whitty, Aideen Reville and Eimear Dunne. Next jackpot will be €4,400.

The Model County Tickets are being sold around the parish. A ticket for €50 enters you into the April, May and June draws.

The junior ladies’ football drew in their first round against Clonard on a washed out evening in Grantstown. Final score 2-07 each.

The intermedia­te football squad started their championsh­ip on Saturday last. All details of fixtures and results are on the Facebook page and Twitter account.

Deepest condolence­s to the Family’s of the Late Billy Davey, who was the clubs Vice-president for the last couple of years.
