The walking football programme continues every Tuesday at midday at Rosslare Strand. This initiative from the FAI is available to players 50 years + with an emphasis on keeping active in a relaxed and fun environmen­t with the post match cuppa lasting longer than the game.

BEFRIENDIN­G GROUP

The Befriendin­g Group offers companions­hip to older people through weekly visits and telephone calls. Volunteers are trained by ‘Alone’, and are Garda vetted and reference checked. We complement other services such as home help, homecare etc., but do not replace them. Self-referrals and profession­al referrals are welcome. WAVES ART GROUP

Waves Art Group meet every Monday from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. at Cois Barry Centre. Cost is €12 for six weeks, to include tea or coffee and heating. TIDY TOWNS

Tidy Towns are continuing with the work of clearing weeds etc from all the foot – paths, also cutting overhangin­g branches, and over Easter we again cleared sand and debris from the carpark.

Like everybody else we are battling against the weather hence we will have lots to do once the Planting and Painting weather arrives. It is then we will need plenty of help, Please get involved for the good of the community and meanwhile Please Do look after your own Patch.

The Community Clean-up day is Saturday, April 21, our base will be in the car park opposite Tides starting at 11 a.m. for just two hours. This is a great chance to get the village looking its best for the summer Season and it is a great chance for everybody young and otherwise to play their part, Please do not leave it to ‘someone else’. More informatio­n later but Please do put aside the two hours for a little bit of Community Time.
