Pres TY students help the Wheelchair Association

-

TRANSITION YEAR students from the Presentation School, in Wexford, showcased their charitable nature last week when they presented a cheque for €950.21 to the Irish Wheelchair Association.

The presentation was made to Mary O’Connor, from the IWA, and she expressed gratitude to the students for their generous gesture.

She also thanked them for their ongoing efforts to raise money for the organisation.

Speaking to this newspaper the school’s TY coordinator, Jacqueline Hartnett, said the Presentation has been working with the IWA for nine years.

‘The girls raise money for the organisation every year and this time they sold angel pins on the main street,’ she said.

The students operated on a rota basis and took shifts in pairs to sell the pins which were official merchandise of the IWA.

The sale took place on November 10 and Ms Hartnett said everyone was delighted with the amount of money raised and were happy to help.
