Pres TY stu­dents help the Wheel­chair As­so­ci­a­tion

TRAN­SI­TION YEAR stu­dents from the Pre­sen­ta­tion School, in Wex­ford, show­cased their char­i­ta­ble na­ture last week when they pre­sented a cheque for €950.21 to the Ir­ish Wheel­chair As­so­ci­a­tion.

The pre­sen­ta­tion was made to Mary O’Con­nor, from the IWA, and she ex­pressed grat­i­tude to the stu­dents for their gen­er­ous ges­ture.

She also thanked them for their on­go­ing ef­forts to raise money for the or­gan­i­sa­tion.

Speak­ing to this news­pa­per the school’s TY co­or­di­na­tor, Jacque­line Hart­nett, said the Pre­sen­ta­tion has been work­ing with the IWA for nine years.

‘The girls raise money for the or­gan­i­sa­tion ev­ery year and this time they sold an­gel pins on the main street,’ she said.

The stu­dents op­er­ated on a rota ba­sis and took shifts in pairs to sell the pins which were of­fi­cial mer­chan­dise of the IWA.

The sale took place on Novem­ber 10 and Ms Hart­nett said ev­ery­one was de­lighted with the amount of money raised and were happy to help.
