Not insured driving to work
A carpenter from Tagoat working on the New Ross bypass drove himself to work when a work colleague was not available at short notice.
The problem considered at the District Court was that 45-year-old Kevin Sheil of The Gate Lodge, Hill Castle was not insured.
He explained that the foreman on the site came from Mayglass usually gave him a lift.
However, the other man was away in Cork on the date of the admitted offence, August 29 last.
Sheil successfully pleaded with the judge to be allowed retain his licence but there was no escaping the fine of €400 which came with the conviction.
