Ar­rested for own safety

Timmy Stafford (18) from Jack­et­stown in Dri­nagh had no con­vic­tion recorded against him af­ter he was found in­tox­i­cated in pub­lic.

The teenager found him­self fac­ing pub­lic or­der pros­e­cu­tion at the District Court aris­ing from his be­hav­iour on July 15 last.

The garda who ar­rested Stafford for his own safety on the night in ques­tion in Wex­ford noted that the young man ap­peared drunk. The ac­cused told the garda he had been drink­ing Jack Daniels and smok­ing cannabis.

He was wear­ing dark cloth­ing as he made his way on foot to­wards his home in Dri­nagh.

The of­fence was ad­mit­ted and Judge Ger­ard Haughton al­lowed Stafford the ben­e­fit of the Pro­ba­tion Act.
