Penalty points

An accumulation of penalty points meant the Jason Dilworth (19) of 18 Millhaven, Castlebridge was disqualified from driving when involved in a road accident at Kilcorral on July 16 last year.

The result was that his insurance cover had been rendered null and void.

It was accepted in the District Court that he knew he was not supposed to be driving.

Dilworth’s mother was in court as her son was fined €200 for driving without a valid licence and a further €400 for the lack of insurance.

The convictions came with an order banning him from driving for two years.
