Banned from the road

Mo­torists con­victed of rel­a­tively mi­nor of­fences were put off the road for a year af­ter Judge Ger­ard Haughton learned that their li­cence de­tails were not avail­able to him at the District Court sit­ting in Wex­ford:

Tom Berry of 11 St Ivor’s Villas in Castle­bridge was fined €300 as the reg­is­tered owner of a ve­hi­cle de­tected trav­el­ling at 64 km/h through Castle­bridge last July when the limit in force was 50 km/h;

Pa­tryk Zarobczyn­ski of Gar­ry­var­ren in Bal­ly­murn was con­victed of speed­ing at 62km/h in the 50 km/h zone in Castle­bridge on the same date – again a fine of €300 was recorded;

Learner per­mit holder Luke Con­nors (27) from Ra­heen­duff, Adamstown was con­victed af­ter he was caught driv­ing a yel­low Ford Tran­sit in Adamstown last July with­out be­ing ac­com­pa­nied by a qual­i­fied driver – fine €300;

James Vin­cent Moyles from Ballinoglough, Cleariestown pros­e­cuted af­ter his ve­hi­cle was clocked at 105 km/h in Bal­ly­knock in Au­gust, break­ing the 80 km/h limit on the R733 – fine €300.
