Banned from the road

Motorists convicted of relatively minor offences were put off the road for a year after Judge Gerard Haughton learned that their licence details were not available to him at the District Court sitting in Wexford:

Tom Berry of 11 St Ivor’s Villas in Castlebrid­ge was fined €300 as the registered owner of a vehicle detected travelling at 64 km/h through Castlebrid­ge last July when the limit in force was 50 km/h;

Patryk Zarobczyns­ki of Garryvarre­n in Ballymurn was convicted of speeding at 62km/h in the 50 km/h zone in Castlebrid­ge on the same date – again a fine of €300 was recorded;

Learner permit holder Luke Connors (27) from Raheenduff, Adamstown was convicted after he was caught driving a yellow Ford Transit in Adamstown last July without being accompanie­d by a qualified driver – fine €300;

James Vincent Moyles from Ballinoglo­ugh, Cleariesto­wn prosecuted after his vehicle was clocked at 105 km/h in Ballyknock in August, breaking the 80 km/h limit on the R733 – fine €300.
