Motorway to Rosslare needed – Hore

THERE is nothing wrong with the Whitford junction in Wexford, according to Director of Services for Roads Eamonn Hore who said a motorway from Oylegate to Rosslare Harbour is what is needed.

Cllr Robbie Ireton said drivers are encountering problems at the junction, but Mr Hore said: ‘The Whitford junction isn’t dangerous if people drive carefully.

‘We need a motorway from Oylegate to Rosslare. We can increase the size of the junction and tweak entry points into it but we do need an extension of the motorway to Rosslare Harbour,’ he said.

Respondoing to questions about works on the New Ross and Enniscorthy bypasses, Mr Hore said they are both on track to be completed in the first half of next year.
