EOIN ALLEN, WEXFORD, PRESENTED BY ACTING CHIEF SUPERINTENDENT, JIM DOYLE

Eoin Allen (18) was diagnosed with leukaemia in summer 2014 and spent much of third and fourth year out of school battling illness. He has spent a lot of time in hospital over the past few years. He could not attend school, due to the risk of infection, until the end of Transition Year. His ambition is to go into nursing or the Gardai, both of which will allow him to help people. He is off all medication since November.
