Motorists in court for speeding offences

-

Paddy Connors from 38 Drumgoold Villas in Enniscorthy was dealt a one year driving ban as a speeding summons was dealt with in his absence at the District Court in Gorey.

The case dated back to the morning of July 21 last when Garda Trevor McCormack was on duty in a speed detection vehicle at Milehouse Road where the limit is 50 km/h

He detected Connors’s vehicle being driven at 63 km/h and the summons was issued in due course.

As neither the defendant nor his licence details was available, Judge Gerard Haughton set a fine of €300 and put the absent accused off the road for twelve months.

The same speed check led to several other convictions imposed at the same sitting of the court;

Karen Miller from 1 Urrin Valley, Enniscorthy was clocked at 73 km/h – fine €300.

Gabriela Mrozek from 45 Bellefield Springs detected at 64 km/h – fine €150.
