Super saints win Youths Division 2 crown
ST. CORMAC’S captured the Youths Division 2 title in style on Saturday, when winning 4-1 away to second-placed Wexford Bohs.
The saints took a first-half advantage when Harry Ellix turned in a Nathan Dickson corner from close range.
Wexford Bohs got back on level terms, but St. Cormac’s didn’t let their heads drop and regained the initiative five minutes before the break, when Ellix got on the end of a brilliant Jamie DempseyDoyle delivery to net his second of the game.
Substitute Daire Swords gave the Boolavogue-based side a two-goal cushion when he let fly from 25 yards, and Jack Whelan wrapped up the points with their fourth with five minutes remaining to clinch the title with a game to spare.
The champions have enjoyed an unbeaten run in the league, having won nine and drawn two of their games to date.
