New start-up fund for recent graduates
RECENT graduates from Wexford are being urged to apply for the Government’s €500,000 Competitive Start fund.
The Fund, which is being operated by Enterprise Ireland, will close at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24.
An overall total of €500,000 is available for graduates who wish to accelerate their start-up companies.
Sums of up to €50,000 in equity funding will be paid to up to 10 successful candidates.
Speaking about the fund Minister Paul Kehoe said: ‘Graduates working across manufacturing and internationally traded services sectors can apply. This includes sub-sectors such as cloud computing, software-as-a-service, enterprise software, cleantech, gaming, mobile, apps and LifeSciences.
‘I would strongly encourage budding entrepreneurs from Wexford working in these areas to check if they’re eligible and consider applying.
‘The Fund is part of our strategy to increase the number and quality of High Potential Start-Up companies that have the potential to employ more than 10 people and achieve €1 million in export sales within three years. ‘Applications from final year students, and graduates with a third-level qualification within the last three years, are invited to apply.’
He said there is a poll of talent and ambitious entrepreneurs in Wexford who are making valuable contributions to the economy through their start-ups.’ In addition to written applications, companies will be asked to prepare an online video pitch.
