CAMOGIE NEWS

LEINSTER LEAGUE – Well done to Oulart-The Ballagh senior camogie team on qualifying for the final of the Leinster League that was played in Abbotstown on Sunday, April 8. Because players who currently play for the county team are prohibited from participation in this league, Oulart-The Ballagh were at a huge disadvantage by having to field without six of their regular starters.

Nevertheless the team performed extremely well against St Cillian’s of Offaly, who were only missing one such player. The team from the Faithful County emerged winners by two points after a hard-fought, no holdsbarred encounter. The half-time score was two goals six points to the victors and nine points to Oulart-The Ballagh while the full-time score was three goals nine points to 16 points. The league provided opportunities for emerging players to impress management and it gave valuable experience that will stand the team in good.

FIXTURES – On Saturday, April 21, Oulart-The Ballagh senior camogie team are away to Kilrush at 6.30 p.m. and on Monday, April 30, they travel to play Ferns at 7 p.m. All details on our Facebook pages.
