Rosslare Rangers keep up pressure on leaders

Division 1

Rosslare Rangers kept their title hopes very much alive with a 3-0 win away to North End United on Thursday evening.

Gearóid Byrne netted a double for the winners, with Mark Furlong scoring from the penalty spot.

Kilmore United earned an important win on Sunday when they saw off Moyne Rangers 3-1 with goals from Graham Healy, Michael Harvey and David Millar.

Kieran Kelly got on the scoresheet for Shelburne, with Aaron Mythen replying for Campile United as they drew 1-1 on Sunday.

Division 2

New Ross Town dented Cloughbawn’s title hopes with a hard-fought win over the table-toppers on Sunday.

Gary O’Connor got the all-important goal as the Barrowside­rs ran out 1-0 winners.

Crossabeg also got three points on the board courtesy of a 2-1 win in Killenagh. Kenny Kavanagh and Vinnie Sullivan got the goals for the winners.

Adamstown edged out Wexford Celtic 2-1, with the winners scoring through Conor Hickey and an own goal.

Division 3A

Raheen moved three points clear at the top of Division 3A after a 2-0 win over Oylegate United on Sunday.

Dylan Whitty and Enda Wickham hit the back of the net for the league leaders.

Michael Cullen, Jamie St. Ledger, Shane Dwyer, Nathan Gaffney and Ger Mannion got the goals for Rosbercon in their 5-2 win over Rosslare Strand, while Jean-Luc Tubritt, Paul Foley and Mikey Barden got on the scoresheet for Fethard Rangers as they drew 3-3 with Rathnure. Steven Quigley netted a hat-trick for Rathnure.

Rosslare Rangers ran out 3-1 winner against Ballymurn Celtic last Tuesday, with Darren Morris (two) and Dillon Parle getting their goals.

Division 4

Wexford Bohs moved to within a point of claiming the Division 4 title with a thrilling 6-5 win over Castledock­rell on Sunday.

Alan Flood and Craig Kelly both bagged doubles for the Drinagh-based club, with Robbie O’Connor and Nicky Hynes also getting in on the act.

Bohs’ incredible one hundred per cent record was brought to an end by Crossabeg on Thursday evening.

Going into the game they had won 17 games out of 17, but Crossabeg proved too good on the night, winning 4-2 thanks to goals from David Berney, John Creane and Kenny Kavanagh (two). Alan Flood bagged both goals for Bohs.

Meanwhile, Nigel Kehoe, Alan Diskin, James Crosbie and Mark Hayes got the goals for Corach Ramblers in their 4-1 win over Camolin, while Joey Murphy and Fintan Mullins (two) scored for Carne F.C. as they saw off The Ballagh 3-0.

Division 4A

Glynn Barntown just need one point from their final two games to clinch the Division 4A title.

They have been scoring for fun all season and on Sunday they chalked up another comfortabl­e win, with Robert Dempsey netting a hat-trick and John Lacey adding a double in their 5-1 win over Ballymurn.

Gorey Celtic ensured that the champions-elect had to keep the champagne on ice for another while by beating Boolavogue 4-0 on Tuesday evening.

Jakub Konkel bagged a double, while Greg O’Rourke and Jake Cassidy chipped in with a goal apiece.

Jamie Myler scored both goals for Campile United on Thursday as they edged out Enniscorth­y United 2-1, with Craig Foley replying.

They followed that victory up with a 5-0 triumph over Taghmon United on Sunday.

Dylan Whitty contribute­d a double, with Alan Myler, Martin Nolan and Kieran Parle also hitting the back of the net.

Division 5

Kiltealy Celtic may have wrapped up the Division 5 title last Thusday evening but there are still promotion places up for grabs.

Third-placed Rosslare Port had to settle for a point last Wednesday evening when they were held to a 2-2 draw in Cushinstow­n, with Ivor Whitty and Shane Brazil scoring for the hosts.

Dawidd Ruszczycki scored a 90th-minute winner for New Ross Town as they edged out Adamtown 4-3 in their midweek game. Craig Wickham, Anthony Feeney and Dylan Delaney got their other goals, with Liam Moore and Ian White (two) replying for Adamstown.

On Sunday, Tarique Ngoutoto and Tommy Byrne (two) scored for St. Leonards in their 3-2 win over St. Cormac’s, while Killenagh saw off Cushinstow­n 3-1 thanks to Josh Lynch, David Doran and an own goal.

Danut Romanescu and Daniel Neagu hit the back of the net for Ferns in their 2-0 win over Rosslare Port, while Bree United ran out 5-0 winners over New Ross Town, with Dylan Dalton (two), Tomás Cash, Noel Roche and Dean Power getting their goals.

LFA Junior Shield

Gorey Rangers’ second string joined Cushinstow­n in the last four of the O’Neill’s LFA Junior Shield with a 4-1 win over Sallynoggi­n Pearse at Ramstown on Sunday.

Derick Woods scored a brace for the Wexford representa­tives, with Ross Moore and Killian Cushe adding a goal apiece.
