DRAMA PRODUCTION

Bridge Drama will perform their all-Ireland qualifying play ‘Cash on Delivery,’ by Michael Cooney in the National Opera House on Saturday and Sunday, May 5, and six. The group will participat­e in the RTÉ all-Ireland Drama Finals on Tuesday, May 8, in the Dean Crowe Theatre in Athlone. GAA CLUB NEWS

Congratula­tions to May Gilbert, Wexford town who recently won the Shelmalier­s Developmen­t lotto of €6,000. Tickets are on sale in local outlets for €2 per week and your continued support is appreciate­d.

The senior footballer­s had a good start to the championsh­ip with recent wins over St James and Taghmon-Camross. The club have qualified for the Hurling Féile which will be held on Sunday, April 29, Good luck to all.

The Shels under-17 boys travelled to Blackwater last week on a very wet and windy night. There were some great displays of hurling for both sides, and the boys fought hard but were beaten on the night. The final score was Shels 2-7 Blackwater 1-11.

There is an option to pay social membership to the Shelmalier­s which will get you a text directly to your phone on a Monday detailing what is coming up for the week ahead with the club, including training times and nights plus all matches from minor grade up. The cost of this is €25. You can either pay this to Murt Hanrahan or to Myles in the Porter House and your name can then be added to the text list.

CÚL CAMPS

On the back of a very successful Easter Camp with over 130 children in attendance, the Shelmalier GAA Club will hold two camps during the summer. Sincere thanks to everyone who ensured the Easter camp was a huge success. A lot of hard work went into the running of this great event.

Get your name in early for the Cúl Camps. They will be held in Hollymount with week 1 taking place from July 16 to July 20 and week 2 from July 30 to August 3.

CURRACLOE SCHOOL NEWS

Well done to recent split-thepot winner Helen Larkin, who won €86. Envelopes are available in local Curracloe businesses as well as in the school. €2 per envelope. Many thanks to everyone for their continued support.

The children in second class will make their First Holy Communion on Saturday next, April 28, at 11 a.m. in St Margaret’s Church, Curracloe.

The parents and Guardians Associatio­n are organising a clothes collection in conjunctio­n with NCBI (National Council for the Blind). They are looking for the following: clothing, linen, curtains, belts, handbags and shoes (paired) but no cushions, duvets, pillows, socks or underwear. Please send in your unwanted clothes etc. to the school before Friday, April 27 (between 9.15 a.m. and 3 p.m)

FIT-NUTZ

Fit-Nutz are a walking/running group in Castlebrid­ge. They will have classes for all areas and levels, whether you want to walk or couch to 5k program. They will also have other weekly classes including intensity training and core strengthen­ing. It is only €5 for the week and they also have two classes mid week – Tuesday at 7.30 p.m and Friday at 7 p.m. All these events at Hollymount GAA pitch. Please contact Darren at 086 8563872.
