TABLE QUIZ

A table quiz in aid of Bannow 1169 an internatio­nal Norman music festival to be held on the bank holiday weekend in May will be held this Thursday night, April 26, in Colfer’s Pub, Carrig-on-Bannow at 8.30. Great prizes, table of four €40. GAA club notes

Lotto numbers were 10, 25, 27 and 30. No winners congratula­tions to Bridie Lacey Bannow a match-three winner. Next jackpot will be €4,700.

Our intermedia­te Football team took a hard fall during the weekend with a heavy defeat over St Mary’s Maulditown on a scoreline of 3-12 to five points. So going in with a draw and a loss for round three of the championsh­ip.

Last weekend the Junior Hurlers took on the Rapps. Look up the Facebook page for results.

This Saturday night in Carrig Community Centre the bingo celebrates its 10-year running. Special Thanks goes to the original organisers who started the ball rolling and to everyone who is involved from week to week. These things don’t just happen on their own a lot of work is involved. On Saturday there’s €1,600 in prize money to be won and lots of raffle prizes.

On Tuesday the Junior Ladies’ Football take on Baile Dubh Tire in Grantstown at 7.30 in their first round of championsh­ip good luck ladies.

Well done to our Scor Group on representi­ng club recently.

The Junior Football squad took on Horeswood on Friday last in Grantstown and took a comfortabl­e win. Final score B/B 5-12 h/w 2-11. Well done, lads.

BEACH CLEAN UP

Cullenstow­n Beach clean-up Monday, May 7, at 7 p.m. Your support is always appreciate­d.

PARISH CLEAN UP

Since good weather is forecast. we will start the clean-up this week till end of April.

The roads are littered with rubbish and we need to pick up as much of it as we can before the Grass and weeds start growing and covering it up. Bags available gloves etc from Nicola in PO. If people would take an area near them and organise to do a section of road and let us know that would be great. More help less work. Trailer will be in usual place for the rubbish till end of April.

DANCING

Dancing continues in Tír na nÓg every Thursday night with music this Thursday, April 26, Catherine and the Images. All welcome refreshmen­ts served.

ANNIVERSAR­Y DANCE

Ballymitty handball club is celebratin­g the fourth anniversar­y Of social dancing in Tír na nÓg on Thursday, May 3, with music by Delta Dawn. Work has now started on the building of our Second ball alley which brings great pressure on fundraisin­g. We would welcome a little more support for our weekly dances as we believe the new facilities will be of great benefit to the youth of the parish.

‘RHYTHM OF THE SEA’ CONCERT

The Little Sea Musical Society in associatio­n with the Kiltra school of music concert orchestra and guests present the ‘Rhythm of the sea’ concert in Carrig church on Friday, May 4, and in St Mary’s community hall, Fethard on Saturday, May 12. Tickets on sale in Kiltra school of music, Bredas corner shop Carrig, Costcutter­s Wellington­bridge and Fethard post office.

Monster Bingo is on Sunday, April 29, at 3 p.m. in Ballymitty Hall. €1,500 in prizes including Special page; €50 one line, €100 for two lines and €150 full house. Raffle and lots of prizes. Tea and sandwiches served.

MUSIC EXTRAVAGAN­ZA

A Music Extravagan­za takes place at Stafford’s of Tulllicann­a on Sunday, May 6, with music from 4 p.m. till late. This is a night not to be missed as there are a number of bands performing on the night with all proceeds from this unique event going to the Hope Cancer Support Centre, Enniscorth­y. HISTORICAL SOCIETY

The annual AGM of Bannow historical society will take place on Monday May 14 in Tir na Nog Wellington­bridge. All are welcome. There wiil be a historical talk in Tir na Nog in early May. Details to follow in weeks to come.
