New restaurant opens at former Stanville Lodge
WEXFORD’S newest restaurant opened its doors last Friday bringing life back to the former Stanville Lodge.
Sebz Restaurant which is being run by husband and wife team Padraig Doyle and Anne Marie Neville is located in the former bar and lounge area of the former Stanville, although the hotel is unrecognisable having undergone a major transformation.
Anne Marie said they decided to take the plunge and open Sebz after seeing a gap in the market.
‘We want to do something different here at Sebz. It’s a destination night out for people. We don’t turn tables, you can linger over your meal and afterwards and you can really make a night of it here.’
Head chef at the Sebz is Harry Hore who worked for 20 years in the Lobster Pot in Carne. The menu features a range of dishes to cater for all tastes including prime steak and fish.
Sebz, which is named after the couple’s six-month-old son, is open Wednesday to Saturday from 12.30 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Sundays from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Ann Marie said the couple, who previously owned Cooper’s Inn in Killinick, are very excited about their new venture, adding she was delighted to see the former Stanville Lodge being reopened.
‘My other business is Liam Neville Building Construction, which I run with my family. We have our offices out here in the newly renovated function room.
‘We hated closing down the Stanville at the time and to get the opportunity to open it back up is fantastic. This is a better time than it was four or five years ago and there’s a better economy out there.’
