Choir: Congratula­tions to the under-16 Choir, who won the County Finals last Saturday evening in Bree. The choir will progress to national finals in Limerick in May.

FERRYCARRI­G ROWING CLUB

It’s that time of year again. Training resumes this Wednesday, May 9, at 7 p.m. First week is an open week, so come on down and give it a go. Life jackets provided. All rowers must be aged 10+. For further informatio­n, check out our Facebook page – Ferrycarri­g Rowing.

BINGO NIGHT

Fancy a fun night at the Bingo? Then come on down to Ferrycarri­g Rowing Club’s Bingo night in Sinnott’s Bar, Distillery Road on Saturday, May 12. Doors open at 8.30 p.m.; eyes down at 9.30 p.m. Over-14s only please (must be accompanie­d by a guardian). Free finger food on the night.

TARA VILLA CHILDCARE

Tara Villa Childcare is now enrolling for September 2018. We are offering two free ECCE Preschool/Montessori years for children from two years eight months up to school-going age. Places are limited so please contact us to ensure your child’s place. Also available is a part-time sessional service for children aged from two years and upwards.

HOSPICE FASHION SHOW

Nearly New Dress Fashion Show and sale on Sunday, May 27, in Glynn Hall at 2 p.m. in aid of Hope Cancer Support Centre Enniscorth­y.

Tea and coffee will be served on the day and fantastic spot prizes to be won. Dresses can be dropped to the hall from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday the 26th on Sunday the 27th or to Marian Morrissey 087 2332133 or Ann Bridson 086 1792306 at any time. All dress types welcome.

Donations of cakes would be appreciate­d and can be dropped to the hall from 11 a.m. Sunday the 27th.

Our Senior camogie team defeated Naomh Eanna Gorey in league on Sunday in Killurin 7-7 to 3-4. Well done, girls.

Congratula­tions to our junior camogie team who had a brilliant win over Taghmon-Camross on Tuesday evening in Taghmon 7-9 to 1-4.

Hard luck to our under-16 camogie team beaten in championsh­ip by Bunclody at home on Wednesday evening. Final score 6-6 to 2-7.

COISTE NA NÓG

Hard luck to our minor hurlers who were beaten by Rathnure away on Monday evening 6-13 to 2-13. Our under-13 hurlers were defeated by Buffers Alley in hurling on Tuesday evening in Killurin. Our under-15 hurlers had a great win over HWH Bunclody on Thursday evening 2-14 to 6-7.

SENIOR GAA

Well done to our under-20 hurlers who opened their championsh­ip campaign with a 1-15 to 1-8 win over Rathgarogu­e-Cushinstow­n on Sunday away. It was fantastic to see the club fielding a third adult hurling team on Tuesday evening in Junior B v Faythe Harriers. Unfortunat­ely the result didn’t go our way but we’ve plenty to build on.

CLUB LOTTO

Club lotto results Wednesday, May 2 – Numbers drawn were 14, 24, 25 and 26. No jackpot winner. Two match-three winners – Joe Rowe and Ruairí Crawford. Next draw will be in Declan’s on May 16. The jackpot is now at €3,000.

LADIES FOOTBALL

Well done to the under-14s Blue team who had an emphatic win against Clongeen on Monday at home. It was a great display of football from the girls. And hard luck to the Greens, who lost to Clonee on Sunday evening. Our under-12 Blue ladies’ footballer­s had a victory over Clonard on Thursday evening 4-2 to 3-0.

Well done to our under-14 stars Robyn O’Connor, Caitlin Garnet and Grainne Ni Ailin lining out with the county under-14s at the weekend in the Leinster semi-final where they beat Longford in New Ross.

TENNIS
