SHINE BRIGHT THEATRE

Shine Bright Theatre Students will be performing ‘Matilda’ and ‘The Quest of Fionn Mac Cumhaill’ in Our Lady’s Island Community Centre this Tuesday the eighth and Wednesday, May 9, at 6.30 p.m. tickets €8 per adult and €6 per child contact Lisa at 085 1532705 for ticket info. ‘COME DINE WITH US’

This Friday Our Lady’s Island GAA Club will host an evening out in Meylers Millhouse Bar and Restaurant Tacumshane. You’ll be treated to a three course meal (set menu) in a lovely setting with great company, followed by some music, craic and even a dance if you play your cards right at €20 per head. GAA LOTTO

The GAA lotto now stands at a cool €10,800 with tickets available weekly for just €1.50 each. Well done to Billy Kavanagh (seller Broadway post office) on his match three win last week with the number drawn being 2, 8, 12 and 20.

BINGO NIGHTS

Tuesday night bingo continues to be hosted by the GAA Club each week in Butler’s at the new ‘summer’ of 9 p.m. The jackpot game has a nice sum of €825 waiting for some lucky winner. See you tonight folks.

FAI SUMMER CAMP

Carne FC will host the FAI summer Soccer Camps from July 30 to August 3 at their grounds in Carne for boys and girls aged six to 14 years. Bookings can be made online at summersocc­erschools.ie.

Carne FC will have two draws on Monday, May 14 – one is our usual ‘Shoot for half teh loot’ and the second draw will be for two tickets for the Ireland –v– USA Friendly in the AVIVA Stadium on Saturday, June 2. Make sure to get your envelope to be in with a chance to win.

GAA MODEL COUNTY DRAW

We had no winner in the first of the three model county draws but there is still hope and also still an opportunit­y to get your name into the final two draws. For tickets please contact Nicky White or Eamon Devereux. Alternativ­ely you can message us on our club Facebook page.

JUNIOR B HURLING

Well done to our Junior B hurlers on an opening win in the district championsh­ip last Tuesday evening over Kilmore. There were a number of fine performanc­es all over the field especially from some of our younger players as well as a few of our ever green stalwarts. We travel to Shelmalier­s on Tuesday, May 15 for a 7.15 p.m. throw in. Facebook will have updates throughout the week.

ST. PAUL’S A.C.

Emma Carr and Danika Gilshinan were in action at the National Loreto Schools Track and field in Santry last Thursday where Emma was 2nd in the Junior Long Jump and 3rd in the 200m, Danika was 4th in both the intermedia­te 800m & 1500m. Then the next day was Day 1 of the South Leinster Schools Track & Field Championsh­ips where Emma was in action again in the Junior Long Jump and 200M along with Bonnie Murphy in the Minor Long Jump & High Jump both representi­ng Loreto Wexford & Ciara Martin representi­ng Presentati­on Wexford in the Junior 800m, all three girls compteded well but were just outside the medals.

The Wexford County Track & Field Championsh­ips are set for Sunday May 13th May 27 at the track in Enniscorth­y.
