THE PRESENTATION School in Wexford celebrated its annual awards ceremony last week and acknowledged the high standard of excellence displayed by the pupils over the past year.

The school’s concert hall was packed to capacity with over 200 different awards being presented marking students’ achievements in a broad range of areas including academic, social, sporting, civic and spirit.

The ceremony was held on Tuesday, May 8, and among those in attendance were proud parents and family members who watched as the students were presented with their certificates, medals and trophies.

The guest speaker on the night was Councillor Lisa McDonald and she complimented all of the recipients on their achievements and she wished them all the best of luck with their future studies.

A special video called ‘Empower Your Voice’, which was produced by the Positivity Group, was shown on the night highlighting the different groups at work in the school.

This awards ceremony reflects the positive and caring ethos of the school, which strives for excellence in a caring environment. The motto of the school is “Our best, always” and the night afforded a glimpse of that in action.

Special recognition was also given on the night to the All-Ireland winning junior camogie team and to the senior camogie team who won the Leinster final, making it a great year for sport in the school.
