HISTORICAL SOCIETY AGM

This will take place on Monday, May 14, at 8.30 p.m. in Tír na nÓg, Wellington­bridge. Everyone welcome to come along – members and non-members alike.

A coffee morning in aid of the Irish Cancer society will be held in Carrig-on-Bannow Community center on Saturday, June 2, from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. Your support is welcome.

GAA CLIB NOTES

Lotto jackpot for this evening s draw is €5,000 and tickets are on sale for only €2 in Wallace’s SuperValu, Costcutter s, Staffords Tullycanna, Tom Moran Car Sales, Tír na nÓg, Doyle’s Pub, Seabreeze Dry Cleaners, Carrig post office, Murphy’s Pub and from any Club Officer over in Grantstown.

The club have had two successful fitting evenings recently for our new club gear. Check on our Facebook page and Twitter account for another evening. Best of luck to all our students during their exams.

The intermedia­te Football team had a two point loss over Gusserane on Sunday last.

The under-13 boys’ footballer­s travelled to Ferns during the week and played a very close game. Final score B/B 3-08 to 5-04. High scoring game lads better luck next one. Starlights gave the Junior Men s team a walkover. Points to the Men. For one week only we are selling ‘Guess the score ‘for the Wexford/Dublin game at only €2 an envelope which will be circulatin­g around the parish. Thank you for your continued support to our club.

MONSTER BINGO

Monster Bingo is on Sunday, May 27, at 3 p.m. in Ballymitty Hall. €1,500 in prizes including Special page; €50 one line, €100 for two lines and €150 full house. Raffle and lots of prizes. Tea and sandwiches served.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We are looking for volunteers to join the Ballymitty Hall Fundraisin­g Committee. Dancing continues in Tír na nÓg every Thursday with music this Thursday, May 17 by Mary Pendergast, May 24 by The Wicklow Man, and May 31 by Blue Lace.

THANK YOU

A huge thank you to everyone who contribute­d to our fundraiser for the Hope Cancer Support Centre in Staffords in Tullycanna on May 6. It was a fantastic day and between us all we raised an amazing €2,030. We hope to make it an annual event.
