Paperless transition a sight for sore eyes

-

WEXFORD COUNTY COUNCIL’S move to a paperless chamber was seen by many as a bold move into modernity, but one councillor raised concerns at last week’s council meeting about abandoning the old fashioned for the new fangled.

From June onwards council reports and documents will be sent to councillors and to the media via email or through an in-house app. Cllr Mary Farrell said councillors should be been appraised of the plan, adding that she finds it difficult reading off a screen.

‘I find it very difficult to work off a tablet. I came in here today as my tablet has given up the ghost. I have been given a new one. Now I won’t have the option (of reading from printed reports).’
