Driver’s costly accident

FAILURE to transfer insurance to a vehicle he had recently acquired cost James McCarthy (33) of Ballyheigue in Screen dear.

The District Court learned how he was involved in an accident at Ballyfarnogue in Screen on May 20, 2016.

Solicitor Colette Culleton, appearing for the factory worker and father of one child, confirmed that her client had produced €2,000 for the other motorist involved in the crash.

In addition, McCarthy was fined €300 for having no valid insurance and €300 for his careless driving.
