Tenders for town park are accepted
TENDERS are being accepted for the construction of the new town park for Wexford and Cllr Ger Carthy is insisting that a Wexford company be considered for the project.
The park obtained Part VIII planning in 2016 and detailed design and contract documents have since been completed. The tender for construction on the park was advertised in December 2017 and tenders are currently being assessed.
Director of services Eddie Taaffe, pictured right, told last week’s meeting of Wexford County Council that a contractor is due to be appointed at the end of this month.
Cllr Carthy asked if a Wexford company will be considered for the project and became irate when he felt he wasn’t being answered.
Chairman Cllr John Hegarty intervened saying that the Independent councillor was given an answer but he didn’t want to listen to it.
Cllr Carthy expressed his displeasure at this comment.
