Tina’s story in new anthology alongside hero Stephen King

- By DAVID LOOBY

AUTHOR Tina Callaghan has achieved a lifelong dream by having one of her stories included in an anthology of horror fiction which includes a short story by her literary hero Stephen King,

Tina, 48, from Begerin Loftus, was chosen to include a story, A God Unknown, in the anthology by Cemetery Dance online publications.

The story concerns an elderly man living alone who comes under attack and is aided by an unlikley ally.

Having had a story called Underfolk published in an anthology by the publisher in 2015, Tina later had her story To See or Seam included in a subsequent anthology.

Earlier this year Cemetery Dance announced they were putting out a special anthology and they asked Tina to contribute a story for their Shivers 8 book which features a new story called Squad D by King.

Tina is releasing her first novel River’s Edge later this year, published by Poolbeg Press.

Tina said: ‘Stephen King is my writing hero. I read my first book of his, Salem’s Lot, when I was 11, having told my mother two years earlier that I wanted to be a writer. I fell in love with his writing and bought every one of his books. My hope is that Stephen himself will read it. Apart from having my own book published, all I have ever wanted is to have him read one of my stories.’

Shivers 8 is available to buy online from America.
