Heritage Park will be a changing place

-

THE NATIONAL Heritage Park in Ferrycarrig is involved in a pilot scheme that, when complete, will see it having the only local authority provided fully accessible green changing facility in the country.

In addition the scheme, which is a Changing Places initiative, will see the park being the only public facility outside of the Dublin and Limerick regions offering all-encompassing disabled access.

According to Wexford County Council’s Chief Executive Officer, Tom Enright’s latest monthly report the work on the pilot project is expected to be completed by the end of this month.

Changing Places is an initiative that began in 2014 and is based around developing disabled access toilet and changing facilities that have many additional features and equipment compared to those available in standard accessible toilets. They are aimed at people who need extra support and facilities when completing personal care tasks.
