NOMINATION: WEXFORD SOCIAL ENTERPRISE OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
WEXFORD Arts Centre delivers on its social enterprise mission of providing a positive creative impact on Wexford society and celebrates its 45th year as the oldest regional arts centre in Ireland in 2019. Revenue generated is reinvested back into the social mission and operations for supporting artists and creative engagement in the Wexford County community. Sources of revenue include box office, workshop income, subsidised rentals to artists and leasing to D’Lush Cafe as well as project management services including management of Presentation Centre and Living Arts education programme in association with Wexford County Council, touring projects in association with Arts Council Ireland and supporting programme in festivals such as Wells House & Gardens Summer Festival and corporate sponsorship. Wexford Arts Centre also supports the employment of up to 12 staff and provision of training through Community Employment and Tús Schemes. Over 2000 artists are also supported, and a creative outlet provided for up to 40,000 visitors through its annual programme delivery in Wexford Arts Centre and Presentation Centre, Enniscorthy.
