GUIDING UNIT

Clonard and Barntown Brigins enjoyed a magical fairy and unicorn camp recently in Mellory Scout Centre, Co. Waterford. Well done to all the girls and leaders who did the darkness into light walk while on camp. The warden and crew joined them too. The guides and rangers are off rowing this week thanks to the Ferrycarri­g rowing club. The Cygnets are busy with their memory garden and have a teddy bears picnic fun day next weekend.

NEON FUN 5K

The Kennedy Park School Neon Fun 5k takes place on Sunday, May 27. This event promises to be a fun one for all the family. Run, jog, walk or crawl, it does not matter. Fun is the order of the day and wear as much neon as you can. You can register for the event every Wednesday in the school from 2.50 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. You can also register online on our Go Run page. Also, you can check out our Facebook page Kennedy Park School 5k. Refreshmen­ts will be served in the school afterwards and lots of fun events for the whole family.

CLONARD GAA

Congratula­tions to our own Eleanor Browne Joint treasurer of our club, and her son Colm, and other families, when they were presented to the crowd in Innovate Wexford Park on Saturday, May 12, when Wexford were to succumb to Laois. Eleanor is related to one of the heroes of the four in-a-row all-Ireland winners, 1915 – 18, Jack Crowley of the Blue and Whites, who played wing forward, no 10. All of the spectators were presented a Souvenir, free of charge, of the 100-year anniversar­y of this historical event. Sharon Furlong has another connection to the four in a row team. Cian Roche’s great grandfathe­r was Jem Roche, trainer.

We are delighted to announce we will be having a new ABC nursery have a ball programme every Saturday morning 11 a.m. to midday. All kids aged between 4 and six years, boys and girls very welcome. Play, learn and grow together.

Clonard GAA Hurling and Football Club are pleased to announce our inaugural golf classic on Friday, June 15, at Wexford Golf Club. Team of four (€160 per team). Dinner Provided. Congratula­tion to Mick Lyng on receiving Clonard 2017 Person of the year award. Mick has worked hard down the years for the club and in the schools it is a just reward for your hard work all those years, well done Mick.
