Wexford gets ready for the annual military showcase

- By BRENDAN KEANE

THIS YEAR’S Wexford Military Show will take place at Wexford Racecourse over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, June 2 and 3.

The organisers have said there will be a lot of new attractions in place this year in addition to the usual great mix of live and static displays.

There will also be a wide range of model and memorabilia traders on-site throughout the weekend.

Hobby Airsoft will be in attendance, having proved very popular last year, and a wide programme of events and activities are planned to keep younger members of the family entertained.

A spokesperson for the organisers commented there will be ‘a great range of merchandise and special offers’ available specifically for the show.

‘This is going to be the best year yet for Ireland’s biggest and best multi-period show,’ she said.

‘We will have something for everyone,’ she added.

For historians and MPV enthusiasts the show is a must in terms of the range of vehicles that will be on display. From tanks and armoured cars to motorbikes and axled rocket-launchers the machinery on view each year is fantastic. They always draw a lot of attention and this year there will also be a lot of rare WWII American and German vehicles on-site.

The show will run from 11.30 am to 5.50 pm each day and more details can be accessed through the event’s Facebook page.
