JOY OF LIFE SEEN IN DEBORAH’S WORKS

-

WEXFORD NATIVE Deborah Cogley exhibited her art in the RDS in Dublin for the second time last weekend as part of the House interior design event.

Originally from Clonroche, Deborah now lives in Dublin with her husband, her daughter and the family dog.

She loves colour and her pieces are a reflection of the vibrancy of everyday life.

As a child Deborah was always drawing and painting but that passion took a back seat as she grew up and chased other dreams. She started painting again after becoming ill in 2016. She asked herself what was it she really wanted to do with her life and the answer came like lightning – she wanted to laugh and enjoy her time with the people she loves and she wanted to paint every day.

Her pieces are a reflection of the joy of being alive and the vibrancy and richness of that gift.

There are lots of hidden messages in her pieces but the most striking one is to have fun and enjoy the everyday moments.

Deborah studied Art for her Leaving Cert in Colaiste Abbain, Adamstown but went on to a career in Business and Technology after university and her abstract style is self taught and very expressive.

She lives close to the beach and loves capturing the colours and sense of freedom of the great outdoors.

In February of this year, Deborah had a month long solo Eehibition of her work at Hook Head Visitor Centre and has exhibited in numerous galleries around the country, including Greenacres in Wexford town.

Her work can be found hanging in the Irish Design Gallery in Dublin, Gallery Interaneum in Dublin and private collections around the world.

She has also developed a range of lifestyle products based on her art including mugs, cushions, tea towels, clocks and notebooks.
