Bed­room ran­sacked in Car­cur bur­glary

AN up­stairs bed­room of a house in the Car­cur area was ran­sacked dur­ing an af­ter­noon bur­glary last week. Wex­ford gardaí are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the in­ci­dent which oc­curred at around 4 p.m. on Wed­nes­day.

A garda spokesper­son said the house­holder’s alarm com­pany was alerted and when the owner re­turned home the up­stairs bed­room was found to be ran­sacked. En­try was gained through the con­ser­va­tory.

Mean­while, at around 7.30 p.m. on Wed­nes­day a home­owner at Car­cur Cot­tages had a scare when she went to the front door to investigate why her dog was bark­ing.

‘She went into the sit­ting room and when she opened the front door there was a man stand­ing there who ran off,’ said the spokesper­son.

Both of the above in­ci­dents are be­ing in­ves­ti­gated and any­one who may have seen some­one act­ing in a sus­pi­cious man­ner in the area on Wed­nes­day is asked to con­tact Wex­ford Gar­dai in strict con­fi­dence on 051-9165200.
