CHILD IS APPROACHED BY A MAN NEAR PUBLIC TOILET IN KILMORE QUAY

GARDAI IN Wexford town are investigat­ing an incident that occurred in Kilmore Quay during which a man is believed to have approached a child close to the public toilets in the village.

The incident happened on Saturday, June 2, at around 3.30 p.m. and a spokespers­on for the force confirmed to this newspaper that an investigat­ion is currently underway into the matter.

‘An investigat­ion is taking place in relation to an incident that occurred at Kilmore Quay, near the public toilets, where a child is believed to have been approached by a male,’ said the spokespers­on.

The man is believed to have been driving a red coloured car and there are unconfirme­d reports that an attempt may have been made to get the child into the vehicle.
