Three gardai give evidence

A MOTORING conviction was handed down to Christopher Doyle, Ballyvaloo, Blackwater after three garda witnesses were called to give evidence.

First into the box at the District Court was Garda Declan Dennehy who recalled seeing Doyle’s Ford Focus break a red light at Maudlintown on January 14 last year.

Also in the patrol car on the date in question were Garda Brendan Leamy and since retired Sergeant Charles O’Gorman who offered similar testimony.

Doyle told the court he felt it would have been unsafe to stop in the yellow filter box before the lights but declined to give formal testimony under oath.

The conviction was recorded with a fine of €150 imposed and three months allowed for payment.
