Graduation ceremony is a truly brilliant occasion
THE PARENTS of children attending Our Lady of Fatima School organised a graduation ceremony recently for those who are leaving the facility and it turned out to be a fantastic event.
The day began with a mass in Bride Street Church celebrated by Fr Aodhan Marken and it was a celebration that involved all of the children who were graduating.
The parents also had an active role in the mass along with some of the teachers.
One of the parents who attended described the mass as ‘lovely’, commenting: ‘It was a very special celebration and a lovely occasion for everybody there.’
Twelve children graduated and having participated in the mass everyone went to the Maldron Hotel for a meal and entertainment courtesy of DJ Big Noize.
‘He was absolutely brilliant with the children,’ said the father of one of the girls who graduated.
‘He had a great way with the children and they really enjoyed the music and he also provided backing to some of them who wanted to perform their own little party pieces.’
The organisers were also full of praise for the management and staff in the hotel who, they said, made the event very enjoyable for the children.
The graduates were all presented with a gift pack of their time in the school which included documentary records of their achievements and successes along the way.
The children and parents were delighted with the packs: ‘They were basically representations of their history in the school.’
The children were invited up to individually receive their packs which also added to their enjoyment of the event.
Around 80 people attended and as one parent commented: ‘It was a family-orientated graduation and was just a lovely event.’
