So much happening at National Opera House!

THE NATIONAL Opera House will play host to a number of very diverse and exciting music and theatre events over the next fortnight alternatin­g between its main venue and St Ibarious Church.

On Saturday, June 16, at 1.05 pm

the church will provide the venue for a performanc­e by the Ficino Ensemble and Michael McHale. In a concert organised in conjunctio­n with Music for Wexford, the group will perform a string trio by Beethoven and a piano quartet by Brahms. Tickets are priced €17/€14 and €5 (students).

The Ballet Academy will present ‘Love Ballet’ in the National Opera House on the same date at 7 p.m. The dancing will be set to a soundtrack featuring some of the most well known songs in popular music history. Tickets are €17 (adults) and €11 (children).

The venue will also play host to chanteuse Derby Browne at 8 p.m. that same night when she will present her personal tribute to the life and music of Edith Piaf. Tickets are priced €25 and €20.

The Wexford cohort of students from Irish College of Music Theatre will perform a showcase concert in the Jerome Hynes Theatre (also in the Opera House), at 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 17. Tickets are priced €22.50 and €20. Things will take a darker turn from Thursday, June 21, to Saturday, June 23, when Riff Raff Theatre will present its 4.48 Psychosis production in the venue at 8 p.m. each night. Tickets are €15.
