Bird’s Dream Topping must have been a real family favourite dessert a few decades ago. So much so, in fact, that the Londis supermarket at St. Aidan’s Shopping Centre on South Main Street in Wexford saw fit to take out quarter-page adverts on broadsheet pages (that means an advert that was half the size of the page you’re holding now) to announce special prices.

A family size pack was reduced to 15p, while something called a ‘bumper economy pack’ was 29p. Both came in a choice of six flavours.
