The sunshine brought families from far and near out to wander round the beautifully kept grounds of Artraman House on Sunday week last, where they could stop and admire the lovely house, have some refreshments and enjoy the outdoor musical and singing entertainment. All proceeds to the local senior citizens committee who wish to thank most sincerely the Countess and her staff for once again allowing the public in.

Many of the visitors were very complimentary when speaking of their walk around the grounds. The committee also wish to thank all the musicians and singers who attended, those who offered help setting up, parking cars, provided seating and tables, catering and also to all who supplied cakes and buns and helped out on the day to make it a most enjoyable occasion for all.

Well done to the boys’ under-13 Rounders team who were runners-up to Piercestown-Murrintown in the county final, played last week. Grateful thanks to Eamonn Codd, who managed the team and to all parents who got the boys to the venue. The boys had a great win in the semi-finals over Newbawn/Raheen, but the more experienced Piercestown-Murrintown team proved too strong for them in the final. This was the first time that the area had a boys Rounders team in action, and we hope to continue this trend in the 2019 season.
