- By BRENDAN KEANE

THE NEWLY opened Boland’s MercedesBenz dealership in Ardcavan provided the venue for a very special event to launch two new editions to the range.

Over 350 people gathered at the showroom to witness the launch which included a fashion show.

The business’s marketing manager, Barry Devereux, was delighted with the success of the event and said the brilliant weather added to the enjoyment for everyone in attendance.

The new cars, an A class and a CLS class, were launched by journalist and broadcaster Anton Savage, while the compère for the fashion show was blogger, TV presenter and Enniscorthy native Laura Mullett.

‘One of the new cars is particularly aimed at young, professional females and Mercedes-Benz has always tied in with major fashion events in places like New York and Paris and that’s why we decided to launch these news cars in tandem with a fashion show event,’ said Mr Devereux.

Ms Mullett compered the fashion show for the first part of the evening and then Mr Savage unveiled the two new cars which had been covered by Mercedes-Benz branded covers up to that point.

A car enthusiast, he enthused about the quality of the brand and gave an informative and entertaining address.

Mr Devereux said an announcement was also made on the night relating to the business’s ongoing sponsorship of Wexford Light Opera Society.

‘That’s something we take pride in an the announcement was made that the partnership is to continue,’ he said.

The clothes for the fashion show were provided by Ruby Rouge, in Gorey, Si Jolie and Sarah King, both in Wexford.

The models were from the Prima Modelling Agency.

Mr Devereux thanked everyone involved in making the event a success and he invited people to attend the showroom in Ardcavan to view the new cars and the other models in the range.
