In addition to the LCA certificates awards were also presented to four students who achieved QQI qualifications including Maggie Cash, Kathleen Murphy, Maggie Connors and Nathan Butler.
One of the most prestigious accolades handed out every year is the Student of the Year award and there was great excitement in the centre when it was announced that this year’s winner was Wiktoria Borchardt.
Speaking to this newspaper about the event, Anne Ryan, from the centre, said it was a great success.
‘All of the parents were here which was fantastic,’ she said.
‘They got to see some of the new things we’ve done and they got a great insight into the work done by the students,’ she added.
Cllr Jim Moore, in his capacity as chairperson of the board of WWETB and as Cathaoirleach of Wexford Borough Council, congratulated the students for their hard work and dedication. He also wished them well for their future and encouraged them to continue with their studies saying they have a bright future ahead of them.
Ms Ryan commented that some of the students have already secured places in college while others have secured trade apprenticeships.
