THE DIARY OF MAYNARD PERDU
Set in a fantastic, mirrored, burlesque world of the Spiegeltent, the show is based on the novella by Billy Roche. The one man show, which stars Peter McCamley, takes the audience on a romantic journey of adventure and intrigue, all of which serves to mask the pain and loss buried within. The show runs at Wexford Arts Centre at 8 p.m.

MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S CONCERT
Wexford Ladies’ Choir presents an evening of song and choral music to celebrate their 30th anniversary. Featuring solos from Ciara Cullinane, Aileen Donohoe and Mollie Carroll, the performance will be under the guidance of musical director Greg Currid. The concert takes place in St Iberius Church at 8 p.m. Tickets on the door.

COUNTRY MUSIC WEEKEND
A weekend of country music will be held at Clayton White’s Hotel with a top class line-up of very best entertainers including: Mike Denver, Jimmy Buckley, Robert Mizzell, Paddy O’Brien, Joe Davitt and Shane Owens, and their respective bands. The afternoon gigs will be played by Teddy and Cathal Barry, and Tony, Theresa and the Stars. Dancing starts at 9.30 p.m. each night. Nightly admission is €20 and afternoon admission is €10.
SUMMER SOLSTICE CEREMONY
A summer Solstice ceremony takes place at Creacon Wellness Centre just outside New Ross from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Facilitated by Danny Ahern, who is a practising Shaman, who has received medicine spiral training in the Irish Centre for Shamanic Studies in County Meath, the event – which takes place in a meditation hall – includes the following healing practices: opening sacred space, Shamanic cleansing, Journeying through drumming, shedding old trauma and grief, embracing new growth and a fire ceremony.
YOGA INTERNATIONAL DAY EVENT
To celebrate International Yoga Day a free yoga class takes place from 7 p.m. till 8 p.m. in St Mary’s Secondary School in New Ross. Participants will learn gentle postures and relaxation. SATURDAY, JUNE 23 STEEPLECHASE
The Stables Fitness and Wellbeing in Gorey, is delighted to launch their inaugural chip timed Trail Run and Obstacle Course – the ‘Steeplechase’. There is a choice of a relatively flat 5km route and more challenging

SHEDFEST 2018.
This year’s much anticipated Shedfest will take place at the Arena, Buffers Alley. The line up includes Cornerboy, Fit for Kings, No Hot Ashes, and DJ Katie Quaid. Tickets are €20 and will be on sale from club members, The Book Café in Gorey, Murt Walsh Menswear in Enniscorthy, Wexford Arts Centre, Hammel’s Kilmuckridge, Porter’s Killenagh and Lawless’s Monamolin.
KENNEDY CHALLENGE RUN
The inaugural Kennedy Challenge run, taking in the Kennedy Homestead in Dunganstown near New Ross, takes place at 5 p.m. There is a choice between a 6km and a 12km run and runners of all ages are welcome. Registration is in Horeswood GAA complex at 4 p.m. for the fundraiser for the club. Refreshments, tea and cakes will be served afterwards. There are prizes across several categories. Wrecking Ball are playing at a barbecue celebration afterwards in the club’s indoor arena.
WONDERLAND: THE YEAR OF THE SHOOTING STAR.
Members of the Superstars Stage Academy will present their original show, scripted and directed by Sharon Clancy, and choreographed by Jonny Smith. Kids taking part are from classes held in Wexford, Enniscorthy, Kilrane and Rosslare Harbour. The show is at the Dun Mhuire Theatre at 7.30 p.m.
CRUINNIU NA NÓG
Bunclody libary will mark Cruinniu na nÓg with three events and booking is essential for all events. From
10.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. Oddsocks Puppet show and face-painting and glitter tattoos. The cheeky pirate pete is up to his usual trick and only a superhero can stop him but where can we find one?
Between 10.30 a.m. and 1 p.m. there will be a Sewing with Sew Fun workshop where Sew Fun studios teaches kids of all ages the wonderful art of sewing in an energetic fun way.
From 2 p.m. till 4 p.m. there will be a 3D printing demonstration for all the family.
KENNEDY CLASSIC RUN
Horeswood GAA Club is organising the Kennedy Classic 12k/6k run and walk. The starting point is Horeswood GAA Park, with both races going into Whitechurch. The 12km event will continue up to the Kennedy Homestead and finish up back in the GAA grounds as will the 6K event. Registration is at 4 p.m. and the event starts at 5 p.m. Entry fee is €10 and €5 for under-16s. There will be a cash prize for the first male and female in the 12km event as well as trophies for the over 50 and under-16 winners. Later that night the popular group Wrecking Ball will play at the Shedfest in Horeswood GAA Indoor Centre from 10 p.m. followed by a disco. There will be a barbecue and late bar. Admission is €10.

Wells House and Gardens are hosting an Open Air Theatre production of Little Women at 7.30 p.m. Based on the classic novel by Louisa May Alcott, join Chapterhouse Theatre as four sisters – Jo, Beth, Meg and Amy tell the story of their life during the Civil War in America with the beautiful Wells House as your backdrop. PIKEMAN ROSSLARE TRIATHLON
This year’s Pikeman Triathlon takes place in Rosslare Strand from 1 p.m. The event includes a 1.5km swim, 40km bike ride and 10km run.
FAMILY AND FRIENDS DOG WALK
A fun dog walk will be held in aid of Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind at Wexford racecourse from 11 a.m.
All proceeds will go to the charity who use the money to fund their breeding diversification programme. A selection of dog groomers, pet suppliers and more will be there on the day. All dogs must be on leads and registration is €10.
PINK ROCK FUN RUN
Two St Joseph’s AC are celebrating their 50th year with an extra special annual Pink Rock 10k Road Race and Walk. Taking in the beautiful scenery of the Pink Rock, and providing a birds’ eye view of the construction of the New Ross Bypass Bridge, the run route will literally take you under the bridge. This is the best value for money race in the area with refreshments and free barbecue afterwards for all participants, lots of spot prizes given. The people of Newbawn are preparing for a very special trad music session in honour of the late Tom White, a local musician and Uileann pipe-maker.
This will take place at the annual Carrigbyrne field day and Vintage Rally at 2 p.m. in Newbawn Sportsground. Along with his fellow musicians, Paul Cullen, Michael Sinnott, Jimmy Lawlor, Jim Kiely RIP and Michael Lacey RIP, Tom played for annual dancing competitions and performances at the Carrigbyrne field day. It is fitting that a session to remember a man who gave so much to the field day will place at this event this year. Many of Tom’s friends will be joining in on the day to share their musical talents, including Ned Wall, Dermot Wall, Pádraig Sinnott, Mick Sinnott, Martin Connolly, Jim Murphy, Michael Lawlor, Brendan Wickham, Jimmy Lawlor, and Paddy Berry (chairperson of Comhaltas).
