Curracloe kids on song at Kerlogue

-

A GROUP of talented children from Curracloe Music Group visited the residents of Kerlogue Nursing Home where they entertained them with a variety of tunes.

The musicians received a very warm welcome from staff members and residents. The visit followed on from a very busy few months for the children following their participation in the Junior Feile and County Fleadh in Carrig-on-Bannow.

On Sunday, June 3, Seán Redmond, Laura Canning, Ellie Roche, Seán Moran, Ava McCormack, Lucy McCormack, Dylan Redmond, Eilís Moran and Gearóid Moran also took part in to Tuaisceart Féile.

That was a great day of music that was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone involved. Laura Canning took away 1st place in the U12 Fiddle competition while all of the other musicians also took home a collection of medals from their respective events.

Seán Redmond and Laura Canning are now busy preparing for the Leinster Fleadh having secured their place in Bannow. The visit to Kerlogue Nursing Home was one of a series of social events the group is participating in at the moment. The next event will see the musicians busking in Tesco on Sunday, June 24.

A spokesperson for the group thanked the children’s music teachers, Mrs Torpey and Maria Torpey, for all their hard work and commitment to the group.
