The weekly ‘30’ card game continues in the community centre this Friday, June 22, at 9 p.m. Thanks to the ladies for the tea last week. ADAMSTOWN ICA NEWS

The summer outing has been set for Wednesday, July 18, visiting Waterford Crystal, a tour of the Bishop’s Palace, then on to the Copper Coast and Bunmahon, ending the day on the return journey with a meal in Waterford City. Non-ICA members are very welcome on the outing.

The 71st annual Agricultur­al Horticultu­ral, Trade and Vintage Show will take place in Adamstown on Saturday, July 7.

Bree-Galbally ICA GUILD MEETING

The guild meeting of Bree ICA will be held in Bree Community Centre on June 19 at 8 p.m. and our guest speaker is Margaret Quinn at 9 p.m. Margaret Quinn is the Community Alert Developmen­t Officer South Eastern Garda Region. Informatio­n on home security, scams, personal safety. Responsibl­e for setting up/operation of Community Alert also Text Alert in the South East and benefits of same. Advice also on Socially Monitored alarms (pendant alarms) and how to obtain grant aid (not means tested) for same. This will be an open meeting and you are welcome to join us.

ACTIVE RETIREMENT

The June social of Bree Active Retirement Ireland will be held on Wednesday, June 20. We will have the usual get together. An outing for Tuesday the 26th has been organised for a visit to the Kennedy Homestead, lunch and Kennedy Park. Names and deposits will be taken at the social on June 20. Well done to Bree AC members who travelled to Tullamore for the under 9-13 Leinster Championsh­ips. Each Bree athlete that took part returned with a medal.

Under-10 Jayden Kenny and PJ Breen first LJ, third 60m: Lea Bolger and Ava Doyle third LJ; under-11 Ciara Laffan and Keira Wilson second LJ; under-13 Abbie Doyle third 80m Inter Co Relay under-11 girls third Lea Bolger, Keira Wilson, Ava Doyle and Ciara Laffan under-11 boys second Jayden Kenny.

The under 12-19 athletes are in action in Tullamore again this weekend for their Leinster Championsh­ips. The Co B Championsh­ips take place in the Hub, Enniscorth­y for all athletes who did not win individual medals or Gold or silver Relay medals at the A Co Championsh­ips. Social dancing classes in Glynn Hall on Monday night’s have now finished for the summer. Classes will resume Monday, September 25, but we will give a reminder closer to the date.

CHARLOTTE’S TENNIS WIN

Congratula­tions to Charlotte O’Keeffe, Barntown on her recent win at the Senior Carlow Open Singles. By securing the title, she now moves up to the higher level in the championsh­ip. Charlotte is a member of Wexford Harbour Tennis and Boat Club.

Charlotte and her team-mates were also the winners of the Ladies Doubles in the Leinster Spring League which also took place in Carlow. Team members: Charlotte O’Keeffe, Bernie Morrissey, Emer Mc.Crea, Gaye Brennan and Rita Douglas. We wish Charlotte all the best in the next encounter which is the Kilkenny Open.

GLYNN NS SPLIT-THE-POT

TRACTOR RUN

The annual Glynn Tractor Run will take place on Sunday, July 1. Funds raised are for the upkeep of our community centre. More details to follow closer to the date.

CAMOGIE

The White and Green under-12 camogie teams played away to St Martin’s this evening. The White team had a tough game and the game didn’t go our way. The Green team came away with the win after a well matched game. Well done to all. Thanks to Deirdre for the report.

Well done to our under-13 footballer­s who had a great win over Sarsfields on Tuesday evening in Páirc Charman. Our under-15 Rising Stars had an impressive win over Naomh Eanna Gorey on Thursday evening 2-19 to 1-4.

TaghmonCam­ross DANCING AT CAMROSS

The annual Mass and blessing of graves will take place in St Garvan’s Cemetary, Kilgarvan on Sunday, June 24, at 2 p.m.

ANN HANNON WALK

The Ann Hannon Memorial Walk will take place on Sunday, June 24. This is a 5K walk leaving the TAG Centre in Taghmon at 11.30 a.m. All funds raised will go towards St Fintan’s Church Taghmon. Soonsorshi­p cards are available from Fr Gorman or any member of Parish Committee. Entry on the day is €10 per adult, €5 per child or €25 for a family.

CAROREIGH FIELD DAY

The 50th Caroreigh field day will be held on Sunday, July 29. Full details will follow later but reserve the date in your diary.

ST GARVAN’S NS

RACKARD LEAGUE CAMOGIE – Hard luck to our camogie team who lost out to a strong Barntown side in the District Final last week. Even though they had to give way to a very talented side, they battled every step of the way and did well to reach the decider.

SPORT DAY – We look forward to our Sports Fun Day which will be held next Wednesday, June 20.

ROUNDERS – Well done to our girls’ team who qualified for the Co. semi-final with a good win over Gorey Educated Together NS Our boys were very unlucky to lose 6-4 to St Senan’s NS in their quarter final.

ATHLETICS CLUB

Very well done to our three athletes who competed in Tullamore at the Leinster pairs and individual under-12 and under-13 championsh­ips.

Kayleigh Buttler and Emma Creane took part in the pairs competitio­n in the Turbo Jav finishing a fantastic fourth place they also competed in the 60m sprint where they secured 11th place.

Caoimhe Reville took part in the under-13 shot putt individual Leinster championsh­ips. Very well done to all three girls.

Ben O’Toole ran for Co Wexford also in Tullamore on the same day in the Leinster inter county relays. He took home an impressive silver medal for himself along with the rest of his county team. Very well done.

CAMROSS ICA

Our next meeting will be at 8 p.m. on Monday, September 3, in Camross Hall. The competitio­n will be the ‘nicest arrangemen­t of hedge grown flowers’.

A few dates for your diary: June 16 – Our own annual tour to Waterford and Tramore. June 20 – Our Garden party (bring your own plate and cutlery). June 25 – The next Federation meeting will take place in Oulart Hall, Oulart. September 9 – Anne Power Walk (starting at 6 p.m. from Camross Hall). On September 29 (date to be confirmed) Breda Banville will be hosting the Wexford Hospice Coffee day.

Did you know that the age for joining the ICA is 16? We are delighted to count a Transition Year guild in county Wexford. This could be a nice project for your TY year.
