Blackwater GAA CLUB NOTES

Tonight (Tuesday) is the semi-final of the division six league against Rathgarogue-Cushinstown. Can the second team get promoted for a second year in a row? Throw in 8 p.m. in Blackwater.

The under-13 hurlers also play tonight (Tuesday) against Naomh Eanna ay 7.30 p.m. in Gorey against Gorey. On Wednesday night the under-20 footballers play Rathgarogue-Cushinstown at 8 p.m. at home. Thursday night sees our under-15 hurlers play Oulart-The Ballagh at 7.30 p.m. in Oulart, Saturday sees the under-13 hurlers play Oylegate-Glenbrien. Next Monday sees the minor hurlers play HWH Bunclody/Davidstown in the championship.

Hard luck to Darren Byrne and the Wexford under-21s who lost out to Galway in the Leinster final in heartbreaking fashion, losing by just a point after an epic encounter. They are still through to the all-Ireland semi-final where they play Cork provisionally fixed for the August Bank Holiday weekend.

The under-15 hurlers were missing a number of players but still managed to defeat Askamore 1-11 to 1-08 which puts them through to the quarter finals with three games to spare.

The minor footballers had a hard fought win over Castletown in the championship which sees them qualify for the quarters finals with two games to spare. The Junior B hurlers enjoyed a large 3-22 fo 0-6 win over Clonard In the Wexford District Championship. The under-eight hurlers enjoyed a great day on Saturday playing Faythe Harriers on the quay in Wexford.

We would like to wish Jason Wallace a speedy recovery after he broke his wrist in a under-15 football clash. He will be a big loss to the team and also the minors.
