Local James is face of drive-in movie theatre

WEXFORD MOVIE lovers can enjoy a unique night at the cinema on August 11 when Virgin Media present ‘Grease’ in a pop-up drive-in movie theatre at Wexford Racecourse.

The event is to mark the expansion of Virgin Media’s Project Lightning broadband network expansion. The film will be shown on Europe’s largest mobile LED screen in four towns across Ireland. Forty years after its original release, movie fans will have the chance to watch it again, with the sound broadcast directly to their car over FM radio.

There is an added Wexford connection as Wexford model James Boggan is the face of Virgin’s Drive-In Movie Series.

28-year-old James, a former student of St Peter’s College, is the son of Jim and Caroline Boggan of Boggan Sand and Gravel, where James currently works. He has a BA in Business Entrepreneurship and Management, and a MA in International Sports Management.

Currently signed to the Andrea Roche Modelling Agency, he hopes to pursue a career in the sporting world.

He has a big passion for fitness, fashion and sport, and he previously played a lot of GAA, winning many hurling and football championships with his club St Martin’s, as well as representing Wexford and competing in the New York football championship.

Paul Farrell, Vice President of Commercial at Virgin Media said: ‘We’re delighted to be bringing back our pop-up cinema to towns across the country once again. This year it’s going to be bigger and better than ever.’

To further celebrate the Drive-In Movie Series Glenda Gilson, host of Xposé and social media influencer James Kavanagh will head on a road trip with Virgin Media to four towns – Wexford, Wicklow, Dundalk and Ennis – on July 30 and 31, to conduct the ultimate movie quiz.

People will be able to enter in advance via social media. Everyone who takes part over the two days will win a ticket for their car for their town’s Drive-In theatre.
