COMMUNITY GAMES

The national Community Games athletic finals will be held in the University of Limerick this coming Saturday and Sunday, August 18 and 19. The local catchment Area will have a number of young children competing and we wish them all the very best of luck.

On their way to the finals are the under 14 boys Relay team of Sean Rowley and Sean Milbourne,(Oylegate) Shane Doran (Edernine) and Conor Wycherley (Crossabeg) while in the individual events Jack Forde and Billy Reck from Crossabeg will compete in the High Jump and Discus under 16 events respective­ly; Sean Rowley is our entrant in the under 14 Hurdles and Shane Doran in the under 14 Sprint. Niamh O`Connor from Screen will compete in the under 10 Sprint and Ethan Jarvis from Crossabeg will compete in the under 8 Sprint.

JUVENILE ATHLETICS

Congratula­tions to St. Killian`s juvenile athlete Jack Forde who finished in second place in the High Jump at the Celtic Games held recently at Grangemout­h ,Scotland. He was part of the Irish team and was also joined by three other athletes from Wexford.

UNDERAGE SOCCER

Crossabeg AFC and Ballymurn Celtic AFC will be interlinke­d at underage level starting this coming season, they are looking for interest from parents for teams ranging from under-eight to under-16. ARCHERY CLUB

Phoenix Archers are an archery club shooting under the governing body Archery Ireland. We are open to new members from eight years old to 100 years young.

Archery is a fun challengin­g sport for all ages and abilities. We have fully qualified coaches to help get you started. We shoot both indoors and outdoors for training and competitio­ns. Our current indoor venue is based in Ballymurn Hall. We train on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
